There are two sets of criteria that will underlie the judgement process, which are generic criteria and specific criteria.
The generic criteria includes three points that the judges will be looking for
in all entries regardless of the category. It includes concept, execution, and impact.
| Criteria | Description |
|---|---|
| CONCEPT | The relevancy and uniqueness of the approach: how does it fit with the character of the organization, the industry, the challenges, and the strategic directions where the organization is heading to. |
| EXECUTION | The thoroughness and timeliness of the approach, how the company is able to tackle specific strategic challenges with a solid risk management approach. |
| IMPACT | Result of the initiative. What is the scale of the benefit/impact that the approach has on what the organization is facing. |
The judges will also look for additional criteria exclusive to each category.
These specific criteria are different across categories as follows.

| ASEAN Risk Champion | Success in delivering superior values to the company through integrated risk management. |
| ASEAN GRC Award | Success in transforming the overall organization performance through an integrated use of GRC. |
| Risk Innovation | Success on creating or implementing new and creative approaches in risk management. |
| Risk Technology | Success in using technological solutions to strengthen the organization's capability in managing risks. |
| Public Initiative | Success in designing or creating creative solutions that have or are expected to serve public interest. |
| Public Risk | Success in crafting and implementaing effective and creative ways in managing uncertainties faced by their country. |
| Risk Educator | Success in delivering and using innovative form of GRC/risk education methods such as training techniques, e-learning platforms, workshops, seminars or any other forms of learning. |
| Risk Manager of The Year | Success in communicating the importance of risk management within the corporate structure, success in using innovative approaches for solving the challenges and problems in implementing risk management and the possesion of leadership skills and ability to help organizations develop quality risk management programs. |
